After taking the personality test in class and getting a description of I-d i read over the descriptions for each and i feel that it was a very effective method of determining behaviors.
I completely agree with the analysis of the test and the descriptions. If i could be another type, I would like to be more of a D than an I. I think if i put my mind more to focusing on my objectives i could be closer to D but i am very people oriented and tend to be sociable and inspiring rather than demanding and authoritative.
Companies that use this system can definitely use it to determine what type of interactions they would be best for and what roles they should have or strive for in the company. They can also determine what the best way to approach certain employees if they are working inefficiently or to help expand their roles or careers in the organization.
It is a useful tool to find out the type of person you are, although I do not think that it really shows who is who completely. However, I see you as a sociable person, you really are.
ReplyDeleteI definitely agree that you are in fact a sociable person. For the time that we've hung out I can sense that you are very people oriented and make friends quite easily with other people.
ReplyDeleteI do think though that companies should use other ways of judging people and not only this test. Even though the test results could be accurate, it is still worth getting to know a person on a deeper level.
I haven't hung out with you personally so I can't make a personal analysis. But as far as the test goes I think it just scratches the surface. Everyone's personality is very complex and to summarize it with one test would be illogical. I believe you can be a people person and still be serious and demanding when the situation calls for it. To summarize I don't think everyone fits strictly in on category.
ReplyDeleteDominant you are not. Thank goodness. Group work would have been a pain in the ass. But I know where you're coming from in regards to wishing you were more of a D than an I. My sub was D too and secretly (well not so secret anymore), I'd like to be more of a D than a C but hey, what can ya do. Maybe it'll change over time.
